We had a great weekend with a visit from three General Authorities to our Stake Conference. Elder Ballard, Elder Wirthlin, and Elder Huntsman can and spoke to us. Because of Steve's calling, he got to have a lot of interaction with them and really learned a lot.
We were walking around the perimeter of the building before the meeting began (in the snow, but since we were an hour early we had to burn off a lot of energy) and happened to round the corner right as Elder Wirthlin drove up. We stopped and talked about who he was. Caleb thought about it for awhile and said "Well, I want to shake his hand!" So he walked right up to him and asked "Can I shake your hand?" Elder Wirthlin said "Sure" and shook his hand. Caleb didn't stop smiling all day.
Ammon got to shake Elder Huntsman's hand and Elder Huntsman stopped and asked "What's your name son?" President Hunter (our Stake President) said "This is Ammon." and Ammon promptly replied "This is Ammon." Elder Huntsman put his hands on Ammon's shoulders and said "This boy was a born missionary!"
We appreciated their messages about staying focused on the gospel and about "kindling the flame" of testimony. It was an amazing experience!
