Putting up the Christmas Tree

When Steve and I were first married, we had no money but lots of lights. Instead of buying a Christmas tree we just hung our lights up in the shape of a tree on the wall and taped our three ornaments to the wall. We hung lights all around the edges of the room and made a couple of construction paper decorations. That was the extent of our decorating, but we were enchanted with it. We liked it so much that we dragged our mattress into the living room and slept under our Christmas tree that night. It was such fun that we did it the next year, and the next, and the next. Now it is a tradition. Saturday was no exception. Now it takes two couches and two air mattresses to fit us all, but we were all there. Ammon slept in the middle of one of the air mattresses and there was a little bit of a leak in it so by the end his mattress was "like unto a dish" and his brothers were smashed into the sides of him. A good time was had by all.

Oh, I love it! That's the best family Christmas tradition I've ever heard! :-)
