Prayer works
Yesterday there was an amazing article in the newspaper. A lady in Provo accidentally threw out $188,000 in checks from her work. She realized that the checks must have gone out with the empty envelopes and went to look in the garbage. She found that the garbage had already been taken out and went outside to check the main can. It turned out that it was garbage day and the garbage man had already come. She chased him down and he said "Lady, I've probably picked up 75 cans since I left your house." He let her follow him to the dump where he would empty the truck and she could look. When the woman and a friend got to the landfill the task was incredibly daunting. They were looking for a white kitchen garbage bag just like most of the bags at the landfill. The woman and her friend gathered for a prayer. After the prayer, the woman's friend grabbed a white bag and told him the checks would be in a bag just like that one. She then reached into that very bag and pulled the checks out of the middle of it. They were at the dump for maybe five minutes. The sanitation manager's response was "That shows you what the power of prayer does for you." What a great example!
